Service Disc - troubleshooting for spray guns

Defective fan pattern
 
Listed below is a review functional troubles that can appear during the daily use of your spray gun and what you can do to correct the problem.

   
 
One-sided round fan pattern
 
The center air opening on the air cap or fluid tip is dirty or deformed. Clean components thoroughly or replace nozzle set if necessary.

   
 
One-sided curved fan pattern
 
One edge of the passage of the air cap horn is dirty or deformed. Clean components thoroughly or replace nozzle set if necessary.

   
 
Heavy ended fan pattern
 
Dirty or deformed air cap horns.  Clean air cap
thoroughly or replace nozzle set if necessary.

   
 
Split swallow tail fan pattern
 
Material too thin, air pressure too high, spray pattern adjusted too wide.

   
 
Material in center of fan pattern too heavy
 
Atomization pressure too low – raise pressure
Viscosity too high – thin material
Too much material applied – use smaller nozzle size

   
 
Sporadic or fluttering fan pattern
 
Fluid tip or needle not tight – retighten the parts.
Cup clogged-up – clean vent hole.
 
Please note: With the SATAjet 2000, SATAjet RP and SATA KLC, tighten the fluid tip only as firmly as can be done by hand.
