SATA adam 2 - The flexible digital pressure gauge

In order to achieve perfect color match, it is essential to adjust the inlet pressure on the paint spray gun correctly. If the pressure deviates from the paint manufacturer's recommendation, the required color shade cannot be achieved which results in rework disturbing the work flow and unnecessarily increases the cost per paint job.

To securely avoid "incorrect inlet pressure" as cause of failure, SATA has already been offering paint spray guns with integrated digital pressure gauge for many years. For non-digital spray guns, there is the available retrofit option of the SATA adam. The advantages of both solutions are obvious: They are small, lightweight and precise, enabling the painter to keep the pressure always under control.

"However, nothing exists which could not be further improved", says Dr. Ewald Schmon, Head of the R&D Department of SATA: "Our starting point for enhancement was the fact that the SATA adam - once mounted on a paint spray gun - can only be used on that particular spray gun, but not on others as well. Hence, its huge benefits were not readily available for other SATA paint spray guns, too. This is now possible with the new "SATA adam 2".

The "SATA adam 2" consists of two components: The „SATA adam 2 dock“ replaces the air micrometer of the spray gun allowing the precise adjustment of the spray gun inlet pressure. The second component „SATA adam 2 display“ is safely fitted to the "dock" by a simple sliding action. The "display" is equipped with high-precision measuring electronics displaying the inlet pressure with an accuracy of +/- 0.05 bar. The display screen always remains in the horizontal centre position ensuring readibility of the pressure at all times. In no time at all, the display can be removed from a paint spray gun for using it on another spray gun equipped with a "dock". Thus, the new concept of the SATA adam 2 is significantly more flexible than the previous model. Furthermore, investing in the digitalisation of existing non-digital spray guns is becoming far less costly with the SATA adam 2 dock being separately available as an accessory part.

For cleaning we recommend the display be removed and be cleaned using a cloth soaked with cleaning agent. The spray gun with mounted doc can be cleaned in a spray gun washer.

The only difference between the „SATA adam 2 mini“ for SATAminijet spray guns and the SATA adam 2 for standard spray guns is in the design of the "dock". The displays themselves are identical and can be swapped between both "dock" versions.

But the SATA adam 2 offers even further advantages: The weight has been reduced by 28 % to merely 49 grams. An improvement which all painters will appreciate. On top of this, the user himself can now replace the battery easily and quickly. Any imminent battery exchange will be indicated on the display. The lifetime is now up to 30 % higher than before to reduce the need for battery replacement to a minimum. The SATA adam 2 is EX-proof and ATEX certified.
