SATA Spray Guns

The principle is relatively simple: it involves atomizing liquid material so that it optimally wets a surface and can form a perfect coat. We have been dedicated to this process for 100 years now. Continuously improving this process is certainly challenging—but for us, it’s the most interesting task in the world.

When developing a new SATA spray gun, we build and test hundreds of nozzles until we achieve the level of perfection we seek. In doing so, we work within tolerance ranges of 0.02 millimeters—a quarter of the thickness of a human hair.

Could we do it any other way? Be less of a perfectionist when developing and manufacturing a spray gun?

Perhaps. But then it wouldn’t be a SATA.

Buying a paint spray gun – what you should know

Choosing the right paint spray gun depends on several factors that should be optimally coordinated. Key factors include the object to be painted—whether small parts, large workpieces, or complex shapes—as well as the paint system used, since different paints require different atomization technologies.

The painter’s individual habits and preferences also play an important role, as handling and ergonomics significantly influence the quality of the work. Last but not least, the available air volume of the compressor system must be taken into account to ensure consistently high spray quality.

Spray Guns for Many Applications

Which spray gun is right for my paint?

In our download area, you’ll find paint data sheets from numerous paint manufacturers, clearly organized and available at any time. There, you’ll learn exactly which SATA spray gun is best suited for applying the respective paints and what settings are recommended.

What types of spray guns are available?

In the next step, we’ll introduce you to the various types of spray guns so you can select the one that best suits your needs. We’ll show you the strengths of each type in the painting process and the specific applications where they are particularly effective.

SATA’s gravity feed spray guns meet the highest painting standards. Color accuracy, brilliance, effect formation, flow, and gloss level are just a few of the quality criteria that a gravity feed spray gun must meet today. SATA flow cup spray guns enable the application of materials with a wide range of viscosities and guarantee perfect paint finishes thanks to the finest atomization techniques. Another advantage of the flow cup spray gun is the wide range of different nozzle sizes. This allows the flow cup spray gun to be used universally and flexibly in every industry.

The SATA pressure fed spray gun is characterized by optimal air atomization. This high-performance, material-pressure-fed spray gun enables high surface covering capacity and the precise application of large volumes of material. Pressure fed spray guns are primarily used for applications in the industrial and trade sectors.

SATA suction cup spray guns are universally applicable and feature outstanding durability. These suction cup spray guns are particularly relevant in the trades and industrial sectors. The suction cup spray gun facilitates “overhead” painting, delivering optimal paint results at every angle.

The SATAgraph series airbrush guns allow for the creation of delicate and precise contours. In the field of airbrushing and design, SATAgraph guns are used in a variety of ways for diverse design tasks. The airbrush gun is available in entry-level, professional, and universal models.

Automatic spray guns play a crucial role, particularly in the automation of painting and coating processes. SATA automatic and robotic spray guns are therefore primarily used on painting robots. For series production, low downtime and maintenance times, efficiency, and the highest quality are of particular importance. In addition, the wide nozzle spectrum contributes to individual customization and scaling.

Which nozzle technology is the right one?

Our paint spray guns are available with two different nozzle technologies:

HVLP

HVLP stands for “High Volume Low Pressure.” This technology operates at lower pressure and achieves particularly high transfer rates. You can recognize it by the green air cap ring.

RP

RP stands for “Reduced Pressure.” The slightly higher pressure enables maximum working speed. You can recognize it by the blue air cap ring.
