Re: Re: Sata 4000 B

Dear Mike,

you have to unscrew the bolt with a torx wrench. Then you have to tighten the spindle for round/flat spray control with the universal spanner.

If that doesn’t help you have to replace the whole spindle. The spindle for round/flat spray control has the article number #165944.

Satajet 3000 HVLP digital

next prev top

My digital air gauge on my 3000 HVLP is acting up. Had a low battery icon pop up then the gauge started going crazy. Examples being shutting off, faulting readings, and so on. Replaced battery and it worked perfect for about 5 minutes. The reading air pressure was sometimes in the negative when I was spraying at 29 psi. Not to mention the low battery icon comes and goes with a brand new battery. Whats the best way to solve this issue?

Dear Mr. Davis,

It seems that the digital gauge is defect. This usually happens, once something liquid (thinner, cleaner, water, etc.) comes inside the air passage.

To find out what exactely is faulty, please contact the local distributor.

SATA jet mini 4

My Sata jetmini 4 spits/sputters continous when trying to spray . Everything has been cleaned and tightened. Could it be the distribution insert?

I also checked the vent hole in the cap and it is clear.

Dear Mike,

Yes, it could be the air distribution ring. If this doesn't help, check the backside of the fluid nozzle. This causes also an inconstant air and paint flow.

2000 HVLP air blow byBXZYDE

next prev top

I have a Sata 2000 HVLP digital. Air starting coming out of the cap even when the trigger is not pulled. I have cleaned everything and tightened everything and checked the cup cap for a clear vent hole. The only thing I can think of would be the distribution insert. Could that be the problem and where can I buy one?

Thanks

Mike

Dear Mike,

There is more than one reason why your spray gun is leaking. It could be just a damaged air piston head or the pipe, which is inside the handle, doesn't seal any more.

My recommandation is to get in contact with one of our local disributors. If you tell us where you're located, we could send you a contact.

Thanks,

Re: sata jet BMGT2VP

Dear Troy,

We do not have any model named "sata jet BMGT2VP".

But we have on all SATA spray guns a code (letters and numbers) printed on the "back" side of the gun Body. With that can verify on our Website the originality of the spray gun.

Purchasing a spray gun which you haven't seen before - especially a second-hand one can be very risky.

Hopefully you'll be lucky.

cleaning gun during and after waterborne finishing product application

next prev top

Hi,

I am about to spray on a guitar this waterborne finishing product:

http://www.graftedcoatings.com/ktm2013/wp-files/SV-TDS_092013.pdf

I am planning to spray between 4 and 6 coats a day and I wonder how to safely clean the gun between the coats, at the end of the day and at the end of the finishing work (my gun is a 4400 RP). I read various things on the internet:

- between each coats, the gun has to be cleaned replacing the product in the cup by denatured alcohol and spraying it, and the nozzle has to be removed and cleaned into alcohol with a brass brush.

- the nozzle has to be scrubbed with a brass brush many times a coat, in order to remove some build-up on the tip of the nozzle which narrows the spray pattern.

Do you confirm this, especially the fact that the nozzle can be scrubbed with a brass brush without being damaged?

In fact, what are your recommandation with such WB product?

Thanks a lot,

Olivier

Re: cleaning gun during and after waterborne finishing product application

Dear Oliver,

Never use a brass brush to clean a SATA spray gun. Have a look at our Cleaning and Maintenance brochure on http://www.sata.com/index.php?id=4090&L=1 (it's the very last at the bottom of the page).

The paint you want to use is touch dry after 20 minutes. Our recommandation is to clean the spray gun during this time to avoid dry paint inside your spray gun.

To clean the spray gun, put your cleaning agent inside your cup and pull the trigger (air hose connected) for about 3-5 seconds. Then disassemble the cup and the nozzle set (1st: needle, 2nd: air cap, 3rd: fluid tip). Use a soft brush (not aluminium, not brass or any kind of metal) and the cleaning agent to clean the gun body, the paint channel and your nozzle set (practical tip: hold the gun body upside down to avoid the contamination of the air passages). Dry blow all the single parts and assemble your spray gun (1st: fluid tip, 2nd: air cap, 3rd: needle) - this should take not longer than 5 minutes.

If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask us.

All the best!

SATA 4000 HVLP WSB

next prev top

hi I have a sata 4000 hvlp with wsb set up

I have read on other forums that the tip size is a 1.25 is this correct?

I have been using it for about 6 months now spraying octoral/de beers water based paint but sometimes find that Im not getting a wet enough coat on and the final drop coat on silvers can stand up abit unless I over thin the base, would I be better off with a different size set up

cheers tom

Re: SATA 4000 HVLP WSB

Dear Tom,

The SATA WSB nozzle set is the approximate size "1.25".

In generall, SATA does not recommend any tip size for any paint brand. Of course we do work very close with many paint manufacturers (like DEBEER), but the recommandation for the tip sizes is made by their technical department.

Try to get in contact with your local DEBEER partner. I'm sure they know their paint better than we do.

Good luck and all the best.

sheared nut

prev top

I was recently cleaning a gun I had bought of ebay. when I tired to remove the packing nut it sheared off at the body of the gun. I got the packing out to try and get a grip on the nut but I don't want to damage the gun trying to get it out. I was looking for any suggestions on how to get it out or if I'll have to send it out. it is a front mount 2000 with a 1.3 tip. thank you for any help

Der Mr. Murphy,

Can you please describe what exactly you mean with "packing nut"? Is it. the nozzle set?

As far as I understand, it is the fluid tipp you cannot get out.

If possible, give us more information.
